Eden of the East

I loved this series.

Originally I was planning to vector this screenshot, but then I was like RAWRGH TIRED OF ILLUSTRATOR! So I threw multiple screenshots and stock images together in Photoshop and ended up with this wall. It was a lot of fun to make, and the scrapbook look fits well with the series imo xD

Cell phone + spending history extracted from this scan; Saki and Akira’s silhouettes vectored from this screenshot and this screenshot; chibi drawings extracted from this screenshot… it’s really crazy how you can get such HQ screenshots nowadays! Added two paper textures + pencil from Stock.XCHNG, ripped paper “trail” from a deviantART stock… and a diagonal brush from AppendixSquared.

My only beef is the pencil. It doesn’t quite fit style wise, and it looks like it’s floating.

Nice to see something a little more abstract than your recent walls. (: ♥

Haha I was wondering who’d point out the floating pencil xD It’s actually intentional – a tribute to the series’ ED sequence, which is full of win btw (and reminds me a lot of Honey & Clover). Although I guess without that connection it just looks like a totally cliche scrapbook addition xD; I need to experiment more with this style :] Have you watched Eden of the East? If not, you totally need to check it out! o_o

I have not, so I will. I just finished Mushishi and now have this Ginko shaped hole in my life.

Also, I won’t really be up for a collab until like, July. But then for sure! 8D

That drama! I tried watching the first episode but total FAIL xp. Need to check it out again.

Same for me! I dropped it after the first episode and wouldn’t have picked it up again if my college bud didn’t recommend it with high praise, but I did and I am extremely thankful that I did. If you’re not hooked by the second or third episodes I’d be surprised – and I was pretty much in love with this show by episode six. It’s a pretty short series (an extra plus in my book) so I’m looking forward to checking out the movie sequels :D
