Oh the Penguins

Was in the mood for a new monochrome/patterned desktop, and remembered Mawaru Penguindrum’s epic OP which has been on my to-wall list for a while now. Last night I googled up an awesome Illustrator patterns tutorial as well as an Illustrator blend tool (refresher) tutorial and decided to just go for it. Vectored the penguins off of this screenshot and then created the patterns in Illustrator. Just a simple wall (as usual), but fun to make and surprisingly abstract – plus who doesn’t love penguins anyways?!

Mawaru Penguindrum walling attempt #1, for Miss @Maria_Francisca :D

monochrome walls are are a real treat, whenever I get one I dont have to worry bout the general window color just put it to transparent or full black and do the same thing with my winamp, also big fan of minimalism and Mawaru Penguindrum is an interesting show that I need to continue watching, as always great wall and happy 2012 Flyin

Much thanks as always betty! I really like black & white monochrome walls, but I’ve only made one other one before this… fail which needs to be remedied :P I need to keep going with Mawaru Penguindrum as well – only a few episodes in, but I do like it so far. Happy 2012!

Love it! Mawaru is awesome! I found the overall plot-line of the story, as well all the characters in it, to be really interesting and fun to watch, not to mention bittersweet too. Personally, I hate when series such as this one are overlooked. This series, along Madoka and Stein Gate were pretty much my favorite series (plot-wise) last season.

I also got a wall for this series with Ringo (our #1 beloved stalker) and Shouma (cool-sensitive bro) that I did around 3 months (I’m thinking on posting I on AP for the fun of it (since I don’t have a website for wallpapers), but I don’t know, that site looks dead to me nowadays… I might do it later today, though).

Anyhow, the wallpaper looks great! Hope you have a great year 2012 also!

Thanks KM! I completely agree that both Madoka & Mawaru Penguindrum are criminally underrepresented within the walling community. I haven’t checked out Stein;s Gate yet but have heard lots of good things about it, so it’s on my to-watch list. You should totally post your Ringo & Shouma wall to AP/MT – I love checking out your walls! Plus a good wall can get people interested in different series, so… definitely worth a shot to spread the anime love :)
