A Song for the Earth

Experimenting again… I’ve been really inspired by the Gaia 10 project and their goal of celebrating nature’s beauty through digital art, so I tried to infuse that spirit into this wall as well :)

Vectored this Tukiji Nao scan, added a splatter brush, then went crazy with a paper texture + various watercolor textures from SadMonkeyDesign-res and cgarofani, a wood texture from Mayang, and a sky stock from sxc.hu. Finally I topped it all off with a floral brush, mostly ’cause my little sister thought the wall looked incomplete without.

I also really liked the blue version of this wall, which doesn’t have the purple and yellow watercolor overlays and has a nice fresh feel to it. So I’ve zipped it up in case anyone else wants to grab it. Enjoy!

P.S. This is also my belated entry for Celestial-Luminesse’s Tell Me What You Mean contest w00t!!

I’m digging it. The light flower shape behind the dark green feels a little out of place, the connection it makes to the left side isn’t readily apparent. ♥♥♥
